Chord Transposer and Capo Calculator
Paste or type the chords of a song, then transpose them to any key, or let the capo table show which fret turns the progression into easy open shapes. Runs entirely in your browser.
Capo finder
Each row shows what shapes you would play with the capo at that fret. Rows where every chord is an easy open shape are highlighted.
How to use the capo finder
Guitar chords come in easy open shapes, like C, G, Em, and hard shapes, like B, F#, or anything barred. A capo lets you play the same song with different shapes: put the capo at fret 4 and play a G shape, and the world hears a B. The table above does that math for every fret. Look for the highlighted rows where every chord in the song becomes an easy shape, then capo there and play the shapes shown.
Song in a weird key with no good capo row? Transpose the whole song instead with the buttons above; if you are singing, moving the key to fit your voice matters more than the shapes anyway. And for the chords themselves, every shape named here is drawn out in the chord library.
